The Philharmonic Society of Orange County is offering Culture Spot LA readers a discount to its Parker Quartet concert on Saturday, Oct. 20. Comprised of four New England Conservatory graduates, the Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet is a dynamic, young chamber ensemble that came to international attention after winning the Concert Artists Guild Competition as well as the Grand Prix and Mozart Prize at France’s Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition celebration. Part of the Philharmonic Society’s Beethoven: The Late Great celebration, this concert features the quartet performing the last piece Beethoven completed, his String Quartet No. 16 in F major, Op. 135, as well as works by Pärt and Britten.
