Mt. Wilson Observatory

The next event in the Sunday Afternoon Concerts in the Dome at the Mount Wilson Observatory will be Sunday, Aug. 4, and feature Schubert’s String Quintet in C major performed by the Lyris Quartet featuring Alyssa Park and Shalini Vijayan, violins, Luke Maurer, viola, Timothy Loo, cello, and Cécilia Tsan, cello.

The concerts (same program at 3 and 5 p.m.) are one hour. There will be an artist reception with wine and cheese at 4 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to stay for that or arrive early to enjoy the reception before the five o’clock performance begins. In addition, concert-goers can enjoy an exhibition featuring rare scientific artifacts, drawings and illustrations from the Observatory’s collection.

Culture Spot LA readers can win a pair of tickets. Email editor@culturespotla.com with Concerts in the Dome in the subject line and your choice of 3 or 5 p.m. in the body of the email to be entered in a drawing.
