Actress Sheetal Gandhi, best known for her work in Cirque du Soleil’s Dralion and her leading role in Broadway’s Bombay Dreams, brings her stunning solo performance to Théâtre Raymond Kabbaz on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 7:30 p.m. Combining elements of traditional Northern Indian dance and song with percussive text and contemporary music and dance, Bahu-Beti-Biwi (Daughter-in-Law-Daughter-Wife) portrays multiple generations of Indian women, from a grandmother complaining about the younger generations to a young girl protesting her arranged marriage. Gandhi inhabits each character fully, making profound statements about the changing role of women in India while injecting a healthy dose of humor and irony into her performance.
