Madeline Leavitt’s Voices Carry Inc. will present the world premiere of Strings Attached. Strings Attached is a multidisciplinary project, involving contemporary dance, abstract puppetry, an original score and performance art.

Strings Attached continues Thursday, Oct. 13, through Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles. Show times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Strings Attached is a cross-genre project, which explores the deeply complex, challenging and emotional layers of love. The work focuses on the universal feelings of grief, forgiveness, devotion, entrapment and joy to create a tapestry of love. Each emotion/character in the piece is represented by an abstract puppet. Through a series of vignettes, the dancers intertwine with the fragmented emotions represented by the puppets through the choreography. See/hear: teaser video [:45].

Culture Spot LA readers can win a pair of tickets to the show on Thursday or Friday. Send an email to editor@culturespotla.com with Strings Attached in the subject line and your choice of date in the body of the email.
