Holiday Read: ‘The Enchanted Sonata’

December 21, 2018 | By | Category: Books and Lectures

Most of us are lucky if we can excel at one thing, but Heather Dixon Wallwork appears to be a triple threat: a musician, Disney illustrator and novelist. Her latest work, The Enchanted Sonata, is an engaging fantasy that retells the beloved story of The Nutcracker. Her writing flows like exquisite music and sweeps us into a fantasy world where music is power and magic. Though marketed as a young adult novel, lovers of music and fantasy of any age will be swept up from the first pages. C. S. Lewis famously said, “Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.” This book could make some day today.
