A Selective Guide to the Arts in Los Angeles

Théâtre Raymond Kabbaz (TRK) presents the 2015/2016 Season Opening Night With the Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7:30 p.m. The evening, made complete with an opening reception, kicks off the 15th season of TRK’s public performing arts series at the innovative performance space at Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles.

The concert will feature guest soprano Stacey Tappan and the Los Angeles debut of the Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra, with 22 musicians, led by Maestro Carlo Ponti, its founder and music director, showcasing popular Italian, French and Russian musical masterworks by Jules Massenet, Giuseppe Verdi, Antonio Vivaldi and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, among others.

Reflecting its mission to serve as a catalyst in reaffirming, advocating and supporting music education in schools and in the community, the Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra, in partnership with Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles, will allocate all net profit from its subscription concerts at Theatre Raymond Kabbaz

toward the advancement and support of music education programs in educational institutions, including Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles Music Department.

The Sept. 26 performance will also mark the beginning of the Los Angeles Virtuosi

Orchestra’s 2015–2016 subscription concert series of three performances at the Theatre Raymond Kabbaz as its official orchestra-in-residence for the upcoming season. A subscription package including all three concerts is available for $80 for adults and $45 for students.

The 75-minute concert with an intermission will start at 7:30 p.m. and will take place at Théâtre Raymond Kabbaz, 10361 W. Pico Blvd., LA 90064.
