A Selective Guide to the Arts in Los Angeles

Oct. 5 Brahms Piano Trios

Salastina’s 15th season continues on Saturday, Oct. 5, with an all-day marathon of the complete piano trios of Johannes Brahms in Barrett Hall at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music.

For these performances, Salastina’s Resident Artists are joined by:

  • superstar violin soloist Randall Goosby
  • LA Philharmonic French horn player David Cooper, a former principal of the Berlin Philharmonic
  • Zach Mowitz, a newly appointed LA Philharmonic cellist
  • virtuoso pianist Rodolfo Leone, first prize winner of the International Beethoven Competition in Vienna

Salastina presents these artists alongside their Resident Artists for two back-to-back, marathon-style concerts. Come to both and treat yourself to a dinner out nearby between each concert; there’s just the right amount of time for that. Or choose whichever concert works best for your schedule.

Saturday, Oct. 5, @ 3:30 p.m. – Concert 1

Johannes Brahms: Piano Trio No. 1 in B major, Op. 8
Johannes Brahms: Horn Trio in E-flat major, Op. 40

Saturday, Oct. 5, @ 7:30 p.m. – Concert 2

Johannes Brahms: Piano Trio No. 3 in C minor, Op. 101
Johannes Brahms: Clarinet Trio in A minor, Op. 114
Johannes Brahms: Piano Trio No. 2 in C Major, Op. 87
