Don’t miss your chance to see master pianist Garrick Ohlsson as he returns to Orange County with a dynamic collaboration with the Takács Quartet on Shostakovich’s delightful and difficult Piano Quintet. The March 20 concert is presented by the Philharmonic Society of Orange County.
Ohlsson captures the audience with his flawless technique, strong grasp of form and a clean, non-romanticized style of performing. The Takács Quartet combines four distinct musical personalities — Edward Dusinberre, violin; Károly Schranz, violin; Geraldine Walther, viola; and András Fejér, cello — in perfect harmony. Both Ohlsson and the Takács Quartet are Grammy Award winners.
