The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) will perform the Brandenburg Concertos at The Soraya at Cal State Northridge on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 8 p.m.
The Brandenburg Concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach are some of the greatest orchestral compositions of the Baroque era. The six works feature various instruments, and all include the harpsichord. The concertos clock in at about 10 to 20 minutes each. Presented to Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt, in 1721, Bach’s 300-year-old pieces remain some of the most beloved compositions ever written.
Led by Music Director Jaime Martín, LACO is a leading interpreter of historical masterworks, as well as a champion of contemporary composers. Public Radio International called LACO “America’s finest chamber orchestra” and KUSC Classical FM named them “one of the world’s great chamber orchestras.”
LACO performing the Brandenburg Concertos is a concert experience not to be missed!
