Inner-City Arts, one of the nation’s most effective arts education providers, hosts the 10th Annual Summer on Seventh event on Saturday, July 16, at 6 p.m. Each summer, Inner-City Arts invites friends, supporters and local arts and culture lovers to its award-winning campus in Downtown Los Angeles to celebrate the transformational power of creativity. Over 1,000 guests fill the one-acre campus and rooftop for a night, enjoying live music, art, food and drink. All proceeds will support Inner-City Arts’ mission of providing arts education to under-served youth in Los Angeles.
“I believe in this campus,” said Geoffrey Anenberg, Summer on Seventh Committee Chair. “And, I believe in this cause. Getting to experience our learning oasis transformed into a world-class event space, programmed with some of the best partners in the LA area, makes for an incredibly special evening [… ] and you can’t help but feel great knowing that every dollar raised goes to supporting the Inner-City Arts mission.”
Summer on Seventh boasts interactive art installations curated by Night Gallery from local artists: Animal Charm, Awol Erizku, Karl Haendel, Eugene Kotlyarenko, Kathleen Ryan and Christine Wang.
The event will also feature dynamic performances from multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, prominent alternative hip-hop DJ the Gaslamp Killer, legendary turntablist J Rocc and Los Angeles- based DJ collective dublab.
