SOUND/STAGE is a new online collection of concert films and interviews, essays, and artwork that offer deeper insights into the music. Performances range from orchestral concerts featuring Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil to sets from Kamasi Washington, Andra Day, and Chicano Batman.
In Concert at the Hollywood Bowl
Gustavo Dudamel hosts In Concert at the Hollywood Bowl, a six-episode series highlighting unforgettable performances from the past 10 years at the Hollywood Bowl, released via PBS KCET/PBS SoCal. All episodes of In Concert at the Hollywood Bowl are now available to watch via PBS Passport. Stay tuned for new PBS nationwide air dates in early 2021.
In Concert at the Hollywood Bowl includes archival performances by Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Misty Copeland, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Carlos Santana, Cindy Blackman Santana, Kamasi Washington, Kristin Chenoweth, Audra McDonald, Sutton Foster, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Natalia Lafourcade, John Williams, Café Tacvba, and more.
In addition to unforgettable concert performances, the program produced in partnership with KCET also offers artist conversations and insights into the Hollywood Bowl’s unique history as a venue created to democratize the concert experience and that has, since its founding, welcomed artists from diverse cultural backgrounds.
KCRW’s World Festival
Created in partnership with the LA Phil, KCRW’s World Festival has been bringing in an eclectic array of artists from across the globe to the Hollywood Bowl stages for 20 years. This summer, some of the best performances from the festival’s two-decade history can be heard again online and on the radio.
